Recent Sheraton Old Casino Review: "Recently mixed business with pleasure staying at the Sheraton Old San Juan (June 2012). First time in San Juan. Picked the location so that my wife could enjoy easy walking access to the city on the two days I fulfilled a work assignment in Dorado. We loved the location, people of San Juan were gracious and accommodating, hotel staff were falling over  themselves to respond to our needs and the food in the Old San Juan restaurants was terrific. The city is charming. Weather was not conducive to poolside enjoyment and this is not the location for beach goers, however we knew that going in and the hotel was exactly what we wanted and exceeded our expectations compared to other venues in the city proper. Lots of sights and history to explore from this location. Rented a car for the day to visit the rain forest - use a tour operator to visit El Junque - much more convenient. Also, walk outside the hotel, cross the street and hop the ferry for less than a dollar and visit the Baccardi Rum Distillery - the tour is free and is a short taxi ride once the ferry takes you across the bay. Oh yes, we had a room with a view of the bay and enjoyed watching the cruise ships visit the port while we were there. Breakfast was included in our room rate - terrific deal - get it if you can - wonderful buffet breakfast each morning including an omelet and waffle chef at your disposal."
