Recent La Concha Renaissance Review: "[ Visited in December, 2010 ] We stayed in room 1059 of La Concha after doing the $50/night upgrade in order to receive a "partial ocean view". Let me tell you, it was worth every penny! Room 1059 looks down onto Playa del Condado (Condado beach) and offers a refreshing breeze and wonderful balcony to enjoy. The room was huge (seriously, there was  a stove, refrigerator, a large bathroom, and more than enough closet space for a pair of travelers to sprawl out in. The hotel staff was friendly (although a bit slow at check-in, but that seems par-for-the-course in San Juan...) and housekeeping was quick to clean the room. Perhaps there could have been a couple more pillows in the room, but it didn't bother me enough to call down to housekeeping. There's two pools here, and a pair of hot tubs which are very hot, and the beach just behind the hotel is definitely a great place to hang out. All in all, you get every bit of money you pay for at La Concha, and I'd say it's definitely a fine place to stay if you're in the middle-to-upper price range. p.s. The #21 bus will take you to Old San Juan, so don't bother with a car. Just note: it ends at 21:00 (9pm) local time."
