You need to pay 7$ extra per day for parking. The hotel is in a hospital and difficult to find. The rooms are very cold and you cannot turn the heat up. I would more next time and find a better hotel. Not worth saving some bucks.

Good option for non-vacation trip; parking is too far; surrounding neighborhood is not safe. Price should be less for what is offered. We were in PR for funeral services, therefore, it was close to the airport and for sleeping only it worked out.

At first I thought how weird that the HoJo was in a Hospital, but I was so happy we picked it. If you're looking for a clean, very cool, comfortable, safe place to stay near San Juan, this is it. We heard that in Puerto Rico, you can lose power easily, lose hot water or have no water at all and like many vacationing places, crime was high. We were  happy we picked this place, because there was a tropical storm that immobilized many cities that week, but since it part of a hospital, all these amenities are a must. And It's next to a police station so the area is very safe. Although traffic in all of PR is crazy,( and not just the drivers); the roads need work and lack better directional sign, after arriving there, things got a whole lot better. Let me set your expectations a bit; If it's your first time in PR, expected to get lost at least once. GPS works best only if you save your destinations once you've arrived and plan to stay or return to any location. Hint: Hotel, rent-a-car, restaurants, and the airport. As soon as you arrive to these places, map it on your GPS and save it. Trust me on this one. However, back to HoJo, there is a front desk person named Pablo that works the afternoon shift til 11pm; This guy was the absolute best!!! If it weren't for Pablo, I probably would not have given the hotel a fair rating, since the traffic issues had nothing to the hotel experience. He drew me a map by hand and knows all the best places and must do’s in PR. He's absolutely great with directions in practically every part of PR. Pablo has excellent customer service skills, speaks perfect English and Spanish and was eager to make sure our stay at the hotel and on the island was a pleasant one. This guy even went the extra mile; when he noticed how frustrated I was when I first got lost finding a restaurant, he personally wrote down his cell number, in case I got lost again and he wasn’t on his shift. This hotel location was build inside a hospital, so the rooms are actually reconditioned medical rooms. I went to San Juan with the intention to be on and about all the time, site seeing driving around the island and so fourth. All I needed was a place to crash and keep my cloths during the day. For that purpose it was perfect. Security is extremely  good, because your inside a major medical facility, with on duty police officers as security guards, parking is fine, TV has limited channels, and your have an ice machine. The location is right in the middle of everything, 3 miles from the largest shopping mall in the caribbean, and 1/2 mile from the express way that takes you anywhere in the Island. For the price, it is my opinion that it is worth it.

Once you get over the fact that this hotel is located on the 4th floor of a hospital, you realized that it’s not a bad option when you're looking for something affordable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean. One thing I found hard to get used to was... having to let the water in the shower run for a long  time before the warm/hot water started to come out.

Located on the 4th floor of the cardiovascular center on the medical sciences campus. Comfortable, very clean and the staff are quite helpful and friendly. Has wireless and wired internet service, flat screen TV, exercise room, and a tasty cafeteria on first floor. Easy walking distance to restaurants, stores, etc. Metro station is right on campus.

Easy access, right off the highway. Easy access to the hotel entrance once you find it around the back. Parking interesting - have to park on a dead end street away from the door because all parking near the door is reserved for doctors. Signs at elevator directing you. Pleasant receptionist. Check-in easy. Room FREEZING cold. Room is roomy. Excellent  bed - comfortable; linens high quality - warm blankets. Bathroom OK - no shelves to put things on. Quiet. Check-out efficient.

I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. Nice staff, clean and simple rooms. A quite hospital environment. Keep it up.

Pable, the hotel clerk was wonderful. Very helpful in taking care of all our needs. Rooms could use a mirror besides the one in the bathroom. No space in bathroom to lay toiletries and other items. Great place for the price. Safe and secure.
