Recent Hotel El Convento Review: "We love el Convento, and would stay there again. The feeling there is of a private club where you have the pleasure of being a guest. In Feb., '12, they very kindly warned potential guests that they are refurbishing the main floor patio area, and this is being discreetly accomplished. It should be finished by March. The bad part was that our room, 220,  while gracious in its appointments and decorations, (but with no window) has a hum from a machine outside the walls that drove me nuts. (Some people seem to like this sound to help them sleep!) I complained, but they had no other room. They provided us with a free lunch to compensate. They were very kind and helpful about my comments. The nicest part of our stay may have been the wine and cheese party hosted by the management in the "library" at 6. Guests mingle and enjoy the hospitality on the terrace overlooking the old city. The location is superb. We enjoyed walking at night along the paths by the exterior walls of the city, which are created with a park like atmosphere. The architecture of the hotel is classic. All for a "pretty" price, that is pretty pricey."

    El Picoteo - Open-air tapas bar with antiqued masonry walls colored orange, high wood-beam ceiling. Also, terrace seating under awnings and umbrellas. Lunch/dinner menu featuring hot and cold tapas, Spanish-style pizza, paella, sangria. Open Tuesday–Sunday.

    Pizza e Birra - Offers a taste of classic Italian and American-Italian dishes, but the main attraction is definitely Pizza perfection. Serves over 20 different craft beers from all over the world.
