The room was quieter than I expected being in the middle of old town San Juan. The room itself was clean and comfortable. The staff in the hotel were exceptionlly friendly and helpful. They kept offering to help us in any way possible and found us a pharmacy that would give us a prescription medication my wife left at home that the major chain drugstore  refused to do without considerable paperwork which was difficult to arrange from San Juan. The only limitation in the room was that their wireless internet wasnot strong enough to reach the top floors so we had to go downstairs to log on.

This must be the party hotel in the area. Each night there were people in the halls at all hours being loud and rude. Drunk, laughing and with total disregard for other guests.

Very nice hotel, clean, right in the middle of all the action, great location. Few issues, very hard to locate the hotel and for the price of the room it does not even have proper parking. Another issue is there were couple of clubs on the same street which stayed open till 4.30 AM, so it was very noisy.

This hotel is very convenient to Old San Juan, restaurants, bars, festivals, and the Carnival Cruise Terminal. Unfortunately, the A/C was out when we were there. They offered to do whatever we wanted to make us happy. With the double balcony windows open and a large fan, we stayed comfortable.

althought this is a beautiful hotel, I encountered all sorts of problems. 1. The light was broken and had to be plugged and un-plugged. 2. The phone does not work and hasn't worked for months 3. The room was beautiful but very musty. 4. The air conditioner was not adjustable. It was either freezing in the room or I had to turn it off and it was warm  and humid. 5. There was no one at the front desk when I left in the morning to accomodate my needs.

I recently stayed at Cervantes hotel. What an amazingly pleasant surprise. The hotel location is great, the staff was excellent. Upon arrival I learned that my room was not yet avail so they bumped me up to the 6 floor suite. One of the best rooms I have ever had the pleasure staying in. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in old san Juan. Only  negative: parked across the street (parking garage) and was charged $60 per 24hrs. The hotel staff advised only after my visit they have another lot that charges $15 day (so ask if you have a car).

This was our first experience staying in a boutique hotel and we loved it. The atmosphere was cozy. The rooms were comforting. The customer service was the best. I would definetely be returning to Cervantes : )

My husband and I arrived very late (after 12am) to check in and, though the front doors were locked for security, once we knocked the front desk clerk was right there. The hotel lobby is adjacent to their dining room-- one of the nicer in the area. Our room would be considered a generous european-sized room. Smaller than chain hotels, but with far  more character to make up for it. We had a small balcony overlooking the street (standard room), tall double doors, high ceilings, a beautiful bathroom and comfortable bed. Yes, there is noise at night-- a fair amount of it-- but you're in Old SJ... if you want peace and quiet then stay home! I had earplugs and slept like a baby. The hotel is smack dab in the middle of all the action, so don't bother with a rental car unless you want to leave the area. A couple drawbacks... the continental breakfast left something to be desired, and there was what looked like a lipstick stain on the comforter cover. We didn't need the comforter, and went to Mojito's for brunch (you sleep through breakfast anyway), so those were minor issues. The staff was terrific and helped us get a rental car at the last minute, offered us an umbrella when it was pouring rain, and graciously greeted us when we strolled in at 3am. Cervantes was everything we wanted and worth the money to feel comfortable and well taken care of.
